Field Training Officer Development

This course builds upon the basic FTO course by further developing FTO skills with adult learning techniques, teaching styles, and evaluations. Students will develop learning plans utilizing the DOR as a platform and will also formulate a personal development plan as a coach and mentor.

The course focuses on the FTO as a coach and mentor while also highlighting their role as a supervisor and role model. It is designed for FTOs but would also be valuable for other field trainers.

Students are required to bring a laptop for this course.

Note: This course does NOT satisfy the FTO update requirement indicated in 11 CCR Â§ 1004.
