Welcome to the ºÚÁÏÍø Department of Journalism & Public Relations. We are home to 40 faculty and staff dedicated to excellence in media education. JPR programs are accredited by the ACEJMC and we offer four academic options: a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations, a Minor in Journalism and a Minor in Public Relations.

The spring semester is off to a record-breaking start with news of a more $500,000 donation to the department to support students, the largest donation in JPR history! We’re also welcoming about 20 new transfer students this semester as well as two new faculty, , a communications specialist at Investigative Reporters and Editors (IRE), and Frank Snepp, a former CIA agent and journalist who was at the center of a seminal U.S. Supreme Court First Amendment Case.  JPR Day, the department’s signature annual event, that includes a networking fair and student awards ceremony will be Wednesday, April 22 at the Pointe in the Pyramid. Meanwhile, JPR academic advisors will be available to meet with matriculated students four days week in person or via Zoom throughout the semester; check the  for up-to-date advisor availability.
