Human Development Student Association
About HDSA
The Human Development Student Association (HDSA) is the official student organization of the Department of Human Development at California State University, Long Beach. HDSA provides opportunities for students to engage in personal and professional development through academic, networking, leadership, and community service activities.
Through workshops, guest speakers, career exploration events, service projects, and social gatherings, HDSA helps students build meaningful connections and gain valuable experience related to lifespan development and interdisciplinary approaches to human development.

During the 2025–2026 academic year, HDSA sponsored and participated in a variety of events that supported student success, professional development, and community engagement, including:

Membership
Membership is open to all Human Development majors and minors, as well as students from related disciplines who are interested in human development and helping professions. There are no minimum class standing or GPA requirements to join.
Students interested in becoming involved or serving in a future leadership role are encouraged to attend meetings and events throughout the year.
