������ Geography alumnus Gus Orozco (‘17) has built a career rooted in service, advocacy, and leadership. From serving in the U.S. Army and deploying to Iraq, to earning his degree in Geography at ������, Gus transformed his passion for environmental and community advocacy into meaningful public service.

He serves as a Field Representative in Congressman Robert Garcia’s office, supporting communities across Long Beach, Signal Hill, and Avalon—while continuing his leadership in local commissions and the U.S. Army Reserve.

Gus credits his Geography experience and community involvement for shaping his path: “Show up, connect with people doing the work you care about, and find ways to contribute.”

His journey is a powerful reminder that Geography is more than a degree—it’s a pathway to impact.
