LIFT paid opportunity for 黑料网 faculty to learn more about pluralism

All 黑料网 faculty are welcome to come to a two-hour workshop, for which they will be compensated $100, to learn more about pluralism and how it can be applied to their own disciplines. Faculty who attend this training will be eligible to apply for one of ten $2000 LIFT Fellowships for Spring 2027. Selected Fellows will work during the Spring 2027 semester on either adding a pluralism component to a course, or adding a pluralistic perspective to an entire course.

Part of the workshops this semester will be assisting faculty with their applications for the LIFT Fellowships.
Pluralism is the 鈥渆nergetic engagement with diversity鈥 (Diana Eck) and can be applied across many disciplines鈥攕ocial, political, religious. Dialogue across lines of difference is a common approach for pluralism, and its potential for the classroom is the motive behind this fellowship. The end goal of pluralism is fostering empathy and understanding among people. It is one way to effect social change, and we think that our campus needs as many avenues for empowering students (and faculty) as possible.
The two workshops will be on Friday, September 18, 10-12 pm in LA3-203, and on Friday, October 9, 10-12 pm in LA3-203. Please RSVP your interest by 9/15 for the 9/18 workshop, or 10/6 for the 10/9 workshop to bidc@csulb.edu. We need to know how many snacks to bring!
