Continuing Education

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Requirement     

Ten (10) hours per year of Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is required for Certified Specialists in Planned Giving (CSPG) designation holders, to maintain their CSPG professional designation in an active and current status. CPE can be obtained through attendance at your local planned giving roundtable or council, regional and national planned giving conferences, and other relevant seminars, workshops, or training sessions.

The CPE requirement begins the year after the program is completed.  If the program is completed in 2025, 10 CPE hours would be required in 2026.

A certificate will be awarded at the conclusion of each year to document completion of the Continuing Professional Education requirement.

Yes. AIPS offers in-house webinars led by industry experts that qualify for CE credit. Upcoming dates and topics are announced throughout the year—please visit our website and LinkedIn regularly for updates. 

Yes. Any hours earned beyond the annual 10-hour requirement will automatically carry over and be applied toward the next year’s Continuing Education (CE) requirement.

Yes. You may earn CE credit for the hours you spend presenting or teaching on a planned giving topic. Please note that credit is granted for the presentation time only, not for preparation. 

If you do not meet the annual CE requirement, you will not receive a certificate of good standing for that year.
