Electric Vehicle Parking Regulations

All campus lots

EV charging spaces in campus parking lots are reserved at all times for eligible electric vehicles with a valid ºÚÁÏÍø parking permit (Daily, Monthly, Semester, Academic Year, Resident).

  • Eligible vehicles: Fully electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) with charging ports.
  • Not eligible: Non-electric vehicles and hybrids without charging ports.

Idling Fee

An idling fee of $0.10 per minute applies to vehicles that remain in an EV space without actively charging. A one-hour grace period is provided before the fee begins.

This policy, introduced in Fall 2024, is intended to improve charger availability by encouraging turnover. During FY 2024–25, it contributed to a 22% increase in electricity delivered to EVs on campus.
