Alberto López Pulido is a Chicano scholar who specializes in Chicana and Chicano in Material Culture and Sacred Expressions. He has written extensively about  and its relation to power relations inside and outside institutional religions. In addition, his work on Chicano Cultural Expressions focuses on Chicano material culture with a concentration on the dynamics and expressions of the  in the American Southwest. He is currently at work on a book manuscript that examines the power of art and social change in Chicano history and culture with a narrative on his relationship with Chicano Park in San Diego, California.
