Reserves Information for Faculty

 

Reserve Request Process is for 黑料网 Faculty ONLY

 

As an instructor, you may ask the library to provide Course Reserve materials for your students in the library (traditional print items) or online (electronic items).

Reserve Process

To place materials (books/media, book chapters, journal articles) on Reserve for your Course:

  1. Submit Request
    • Complete the : Fill out Instructor and Course information, and specify the materials you want to place on Reserve.

  2. Wait for email confirmation
    • Once you submit your request, the Reserve Services team will work on it in a timely manner. Please allow one week lead time. You will receive an email when the request has been completed.

  3. Notify students

    • Once you have been notified that all reserve materials are available, provide your students with the course password (as you specified on the Reserve Request form) as well as the URL to access .

Add Additional Items

To Add more materials to your Course Reserve, and specify the materials you want to place on Reserve. Please wait for another confirmation email before notifying students of the update.

Yes, materials may be placed on reserve in person by visiting the circulation service desk located on the first floor of the library.

  • Items already available at 黑料网 Library normally can be processed within 24 - 48 hours.
  • If items are not available at the 黑料网 Library (including new books), please allow 7-10 working days for the library to obtain materials.

Remember: the beginning of the semester is very busy and delays may occur. Requesting your course and materials four weeks in advance will help avoid delays.

  • If you request an article that is not available in our print, microform, or electronic collections, the library staff will acquire a copy of the article on your behalf.
  • If you request a book that is not available in our collections, and funds are available, the library staff will RUSH order it for your course. After your course concludes and you no longer need the book for Reserve, the book will be placed in the library's collection.

  • Students will need to use the web page to access both traditional and electronic Reserve materials.
  • A course password is REQUIRED to access materials in electronic format.
  • The Library does not have access to your password and cannot provide the password to your students.
  • Traditional reserve materials are located at the circulation desk, or in the reference collection.
  • You may want to review the information for students using Reserve Services.

To comply with copyright guidelines for electronic reserves, a course password is REQUIRED to access materials in electronic format.

The course password which you provide to the students enrolled in your course is something you create when you complete your course reserve request.

Yes, 10 items each of Books/Media, Book Chapters, Journal Articles, and Digital Files is the limit per instructor per course.

Copyright permission is required for any copyrighted material NOT owned by the library and used for the same instructor for more than one semester.

The University Library and the University Bookstore work together to obtain required copyright permission for faculty, and the library pays copyright fees (up to a limit).
