Mission Statement
The mission of the California State University, Long Beach President's Ambassador Program is to:
- Serve the needs of the University with a primary focus on on-campus events, programs, and engagement opportunities.
- Represent ºÚÁÏÍø and the University President with the highest standards of professionalism, hospitality, character, and Beach Pride.
- Welcome students, families, visitors, alumni, supporters, and distinguished guests in ways that reflect the excellence, diversity, and authentic spirit of ºÚÁÏÍø.
- Support greater connection between the Office of the President and the campus community by elevating student voice and contributing to meaningful campus engagement.
- Develop each Ambassador’s leadership, communication, service, and professional skills through training, mentorship, and hands-on experience.
Roles and Responsibilities
President’s Ambassadors work collaboratively with the University President representing ºÚÁÏÍø and its mission and goals. At the most basic level, they are volunteers who give their time, talent and enthusiasm freely for the advancement of California State University, Long Beach. How do they do this?
- Serve as student representatives at presidential, campus, and high-profile University events.
- Welcome students, families, alumni, donors, community members, invited guests, VIPs, and distinguished visitors.
- Assist with greeting, wayfinding, check-in, seating, guest support, and general hospitality to help create a welcoming and professional experience before, during, and after events.
- Represent ºÚÁÏÍø, the Office of the President, and the President’s vision through informed, welcoming, and professional engagement with guests.
- Share general information about ºÚÁÏ꿉۪s academic programs, student life, campus resources, and support services when appropriate.
- Participate in required meetings, trainings, assigned events, and scheduled in-office time as part of the overall service commitment.
- Refer questions to the appropriate campus resource or Office of the President staff when they do not know the answer, and model courtesy, preparedness, enthusiasm, inclusive hospitality, and ºÚÁÏÍø pride.
