You are invited to Lessons from Uvalde, an exclusive campus event featuring a special screening of the award-winning documentary Reporting from Uvalde and a conversation with journalists who covered the horrific events at Robb Elementary, where 19 children and two teachers were killed.

Recently honored with the Golden Mike Award for Best Documentary, Reporting from Uvalde has been praised for its raw and unflinching portrayal of the psychological toll on journalists tasked with covering one of the nation’s most heartbreaking tragedies. The film will be showcased at the2025 American Documentary Film Festivaland the2026 Tribeca Film Festival.

Directed by Raya Torres, alumna (’24) and a News Reporter at KOLD-13 News, and Produced by Jesús Ayala, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism & Public Relations and a 5x Emmy award-winner, Reporting from Uvalde offers a poignant and insightful exploration of the role journalists play in reporting on mass shootings.
