Shriya Basu

Shriya Basu, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, is an Associate Professor and Undergraduate Mentor at California State University, Long Beach (ºÚÁÏÍø). She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota in Speech-Language-Hearing Sciences, with a minor in Cognitive Science. Dr. Basu’s research focuses on the multidimensional nature of stuttering, particularly the relationships among attention, executive function, working memory, and linguistic variables in children and adults who stutter. Her broader research interests include voice and resonance, culturally and linguistically responsive assessment and intervention, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in speech-language pathology education, policy, and workforce preparation.
Her work has been recognized through honors including the ASHA Distinguished Early Career Certificate (2022) and the Ukleja Faculty Stipend Award for Integrating Ethics across Curriculum at ºÚÁÏÍø (2026).
