Student Spotlight: Asia Goodrich Woods
Asia Goodrich Woods is a Master of Social Work (MSW) student and a recipient of the 2025–2026 ºÚÁÏÍø, . This award recognizes her academic excellence, leadership, and strong commitment to advancing equity, diversity, and the public good.
A first-generation college student, Asia brings both lived experience and professional dedication to her work supporting underserved and marginalized populations. She previously assisted formerly incarcerated and unhoused individuals in securing permanent housing, mental health services, and essential resources, while also completing an internship in an elementary school setting. Currently, she serves as an intern with the ºÚÁÏÍø Office of Belonging and Inclusion, where she supports student programming and provides direct support to students, contributing to initiatives that foster equity, engagement, and inclusive campus communities. Her work reflects a deep commitment to social justice across the lifespan.
As an MSW student, Asia exemplifies academic achievement alongside meaningful community impact. The Graduate Equity Fellowship has supported her continued efforts to expand access to care, advocate for mental health equity, and create lasting change through social work practice.
