Strengthening Youth Resilience Program (SYR) Enters 4th Year

The School of Social Work’s Strengthening Youth Resilience Program (SYR) is now entering its fourth year! We are extremely grateful for the connectedness and vision of Rocky Suares (Pacific Coast Capital Management) and the help of Dr. Chris Steinhauser (former LBUSD Superintendent and CSU Board Trustee) who were both instrumental in bringing community partners together with the College of Health and Human Services and the School of Social Work, including the Miller Foundation, the Munzer Foundation, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach, and LBUSD to conceptualize and make SYR a reality! This year, our incredible 12 interns will advance youth mental health wellbeing as part of the SYR program in eight LBUSD K-8, middle and high school sites and in three Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach. The difference that these interns will make in the lives of our youth are immeasurable! Go School of Social Work and Go BEACH!
