Lionel Levine

Dr. Lionel Levine is a researcher specializing in the intersection of computer science, data analytics, and healthcare. Dr. Levine brings 15 years of expertise as a Health AI researcher, professor, and healthcare IT domain leader. He has guided high-impact projects in AI adoption, health informatics, and advanced data analytics for Federal healthcare agencies, bridging cutting-edge technology with real-world healthcare challenges.
 
He holds a Masters degree in Healthcare Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University, and both a Masters and PhD in Computer Science from UCLA. His research explores how responsible, scalable AI can improve clinical outcomes and population health.
 
Dr. Levine joins California State University, Long Beach as an Assistant Professor of Artificial Intelligence, in the Health Sciences Department where he continues to teach, conduct research, and help prepare the next generation of AI professionals.
