Undergraduate Academic Advising

Undergraduate Academic Advising is a critical component of your success at California State University, Long Beach. Our faculty, staff, and peer advisors are trained to help you maximize your experience and fulfill your degree requirements. Academic Advising Centers collaborate closely with departments, which are housed within colleges, to offer tailored guidance and support for students within those disciplines. The university provides specialized advising services, advising for general education requirements, undeclared students, all majors and minors.

Student can use BeachConnect (accessible via their My�� page) to book appointments for Academic Advising as well as other student support resources such as: Tutoring, Academic Coaching, Writing Support, Career Counseling, Graduate Services, Beach Central, Basic Needs, and Veteran Services.

Beach Central

Bickerstaff Academic Center for Student-Athlete Services (BAC)

Serves student-athletes by providing academic advising, tutoring, and mentoring.

Center for International Education (CIE)

One-stop hub for international programs at �� comprised of three distinct areas: International Enrollment Management (IEM), International Students and Scholars (ISS), and Study Abroad.

College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP)

The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) assists students who are migratory or seasonal farmworkers (or children of such workers) enrolled in their first year of undergraduate studies at ��.

Educational Opportunity Program (EOP)

Serves students that are first-generation and historically low-income by providing academic and financial aid counseling, tutoring, orientation, transitional programming, career and graduate school exploration, enrichment activities, and community outreach.

Mentoring, Advising, Placement Support (MAPS)

Serves Beach Academy, First-Time First Year, and Second Year students by providing coaching and mentoring.

TRiO Student Support Services (SSS)

Serves students that are low income disabled, and first generation by providing academic advising, assistance applying for aid, graduate school and career preparation, academic coaching, workshops, and cultural activities.

University Honors Program

Serves honors students by providing academic advising, graduate school preparation, scholarship opportunities, priority registration, campus facilities, leadership training and professional development.

Veteran Services

Serves service members, veterans, and eligible dependents in transitioning to campus student life. We help students access the educational benefits they earned by serving in the United States armed forces. To do so, we certify their enrollment in courses for the G.I. Bill® and process CalVet Fee Waivers for eligible dependents.
