The purpose of the prop weapon inspection is to ensure the safe use, storage, and display of prop weapons utilized for theatrical productions, film projects, or academic coursework on university property. This procedure establishes inspection and authorization requirements to prevent alarm, misuse, or safety hazards associated with realistic-looking prop weapons.

The Prop Weapon Inspection and Permit Request form must be completed and signed at least 14 business days before the use of a prop weapon. Missing information and documents may delay or cause your application to be rejected. Once your submittal has been accepted, your will be contacted by UPD to schedule a physical inspection of the prop weapon.
