Mission Statement 

"We are committed to supporting the creation of original theatrical works by student artists while contributing to their academic and professional advancement. We provide valuable opportunities in all areas of theatre, including artistic composition, technical design, and production administration, in a safe and educational environment."

About Threshold

Theatre Threshold is a professionally modeled production company managed by an undergraduate student executive board from all backgrounds of Theatre Arts, overseen by a Faculty Advisor. The company produces an entire season of admission-free one-act performances selected from student pitches. Undergraduate students engage as participants who direct, design, perform, manage, and crew the productions. Theatre Threshold provides a space for the practical application of classroom knowledge. Threshold divides the academic year into two seasons: Fall and Spring. Show Proposals and Auditions are held once per season. Participants from all backgrounds and experiences are welcome to apply or audition.

Fall 2026 Season

  • Cougar and Bell are Dead!! written by Jamie McLean
    Directed by Jun Angelo Cabuguas
    Show Dates: October 1st @ 6PM, October 2nd @ 12PM & 3PM
    Cougar and Bell are DEAD!! is a comedy murder mystery revolving around two feuding families and their disappearing sons. Its main themes are love and betrayal, asking how far you would go for the people important to you, and what you’re willing to hide to protect them.

     

  • Until Morning written by Melissa McCloud
    Directed by Sara Meraz & Assistant Directed by Mya Baldwin
    Show Dates: October 8th @ 6PM, October 9th @ 12PM & 3PM
    Until Morning follows five college friends on the night before graduation as they reflect on a life-changing event through interviews and flashbacks. The play explores friendship, change, memory, loss, and the importance of showing up for the people we care about.

 

  • Y-ello? written by Apollo Jones
    Directed by Janna Lambert
    Show Dates: October 22nd @ 6PM, October 23rd @ 12PM & 3PM
    Y-ello? follows two young people, one nearing the end of college and the other preparing to apply to college, who converse about their own personal struggles relating to society; one of which faces troubles being queer in the 80s, and the other faces their own personal issues facing society’s pressures towards the youth.

     

  • Mismanaged written by Kate Sawley
    Directed by Jacob Koclanis & Assistant Directed by Gemma Butler-Woodhouse
    Show Dates: October 29th @ 6PM, October 30th @ 12PM & 3PM
    Mismanaged is about two weddings and a funeral that get set on the same day at the same venue, and instead of being honest about the mistake, the venue coordinator decides to try and go ahead with all three events in secret. The show centers on how people handle stress in healthy and unhealthy ways, and the importance of communication.

     

  • Ghost Light written by Parker Visovsky
    Directed by Jayna Spitler & Cate Slavin
    Show Dates: November 19th @ 6PM, November 20th @ 12PM & 3PM
    Every theater has a ghost story. Between haunting tales and common superstitions, it’s easy to recognize that a ghost did not make the bathroom lights flicker, you did not hear whispers in the scene shop, the shadows of the wings are not out to get you, and your brain is probably playing tricks on you. In Ghost Light, A-Street Theatre Company realizes that it gets much harder to distinguish what’s real and what isn’t after a tech week’s worth of very little sleep. Eldritch horrors ensue.

    Driven from the town they once called home, Rosalind, Celia, and Orlando seek their fates upon the lawless lands of Arden. But what happens when chasing freedom turns into a convoluted pursuit of love? At the end of backstabbing brothers, cowboy costumes, and a few counts of consensual identity theft, who (if anyone) will ride off triumphantly into the sunset?
