Sharna Fabiano

Sharna is an internationally recognized movement artist with over 25 years of teaching experience in both academic and community settings. She is trained in multiple forms of conditioning including physical theater, contact improvisation, modern and postmodern dance, somatic conditioning, yoga, mindfulness, and a unique specialty in Argentine Tango. She has given hundreds of tango workshops and master classes for community organizations across North America and Europe, in Havana, Cuba and Phnom Penh, Cambodia. She   established a non-profit tango school in Washington, DC in 2006 which still exists today.
 
Sharna was a member of the world’s first all-woman tango company, TangoMujer, between 2003-2006, and served as a guest choreographer for Spitfire Physical Theater in the Czech Republic and for Human Nature Dance Theater in Arizona. She directed her own performing company between 2006-2011, producing three evening-length works at Dance Place in Washington, DC. Prior to joining ºÚÁÏÍø Theater Arts, she taught in both Dance and Theater departments at UCLA.
