Day at The Beach 

Welcoming first-time, first-year and transfer students admitted to ºÚÁÏÍø for the Fall 2026 semester
This special open house day aims to give admitted students and their families an in-depth look at the academic experience within our college. Participants can meet with faculty and current students, and learn more about academic departments, degree programs, and class experiences.

Please RSVP with Day at The Beach to attend the campus-wide event. No additional RSVP is required to attend the College of the Arts showcases that are taking place at the College of the Arts Academic facilities.

Event Schedule for Day at The Beach

The following is the schedule for the campus-wide Day at The Beach event.

  • 9 - 10 am: Welcome @ Walter Pyramid (tickets required-RSVP and Ticket Link Above)
  • 12 - 1 pm: Welcome @ Walter Pyramid (tickets required-RSVP and Ticket Link Above)
  • 10 am - 3 pm: College Showcases (see College of the Arts Menu of Opportunities below)
  • 9 am - 3 pm: Campus Resource Fair (100+ booths providing information on campus services and clubs)
  • 9 am - 3 pm: Campus and Housing Tours (meet at the Maxson Plaza fountain on 2nd level of Brotman Hall)

Parking

Parking will be free for the day on Saturday, April 11 to accommodate guests attending Day at The Beach. You will not need to purchase a parking permit when you arrive at ºÚÁÏÍø.

Performance, Exhibitions, and Creative Opportunities Abound!

The ºÚÁÏÍø College of the Arts is expansive and ambitious in offering a wide-range of opportunities for creative exploration, performance, exhibition, and art making at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

  • The features more than 20 separate ensembles that rehearse and perform together regularly.
  • The Department of Theatre Arts presents four separate mainstage shows each year and weekly student produced productions during the academic semesters.
  • The School of Art manages seven separate exhibition spaces dedicated to showcasing student work, with weekly rotating exhibitions opening every Sunday with new student work.
  • The Department of Design offers its own dedicated exhibition space and regularly provides students with chances to enter regional, national, and international design competitions.
  • The Department of Dance lives in a performance and rehearsal space with seven separate dance studios, a 200+ seat theatre used exclusively for dance performances, along with a wellness lab and a full Pilates studio.
  • The Department of Cinematic Arts provides undergraduate students with extensive hands-on filmmaking experience and regularly dominates the state-wide CSU Media Arts Festival, winning awards in Documentary, Experimental, Animation, and Narrative filmmaking each year.
  • The is a beautiful 1,000+ seat theatre that presents an eclectic array of dance, music, spoken word, cabaret, and celebrity performances. It is a frequent venue for several of our student ensembles, as well.
  • The Carolyn Campagna Kleefeld Contemporary Art Museum hosts national and international artists' work in curated exhibitions and welcomes students, faculty, alumni and the greater Long Beach community to gallery shows and special events throughout the academic year.
  • Advanced Media Production is the latest addition to the College of the Arts community of artists, students, educators, staff, alumni, and creative thinkers, and specializes in collaborations with academic departments on state-of-the-art media production.
