Information Session Descriptions

Graduate Programs Advising (GPA) offers different types of information sessions for prospective students. 

The 鈥淨&A with GPA - April Deadline Programs鈥 Session is an opportunity to connect with the College of Education Graduate Programs Advising team (Gabby and Megan) with questions you have about applying to one of the following 黑料网 College of Education Master鈥檚 degree or Advanced Credential programs with an April 1, 2027 Cal State Apply University Application Deadline*: 

  • MA in Critical Multilingual Education (formerly Dual Language Development)
  • MA in Curriculum and Instruction (Elementary or Secondary)
  • MA in Early Childhood Education
  • MA in Educational Administration + Preliminary Administrative Services Credential
  • MS in Educational Technology and Media Leadership
  • MA in Equity, Education and Social Justice
  • MS in Special Education
  • Teacher Librarian Services Advanced Credential

These sessions will provide:  

  • An opportunity to bring specific questions about your program of interest to a Graduate Programs Advisor;
  • Tips and recommendations for navigating the admissions process and becoming a competitive applicant;
  • An open and welcoming space to facilitate and support your decision to apply to graduate school.  

Applicants interested in Counseling Psychology, School Counseling, School Psychology, or Student Development in Higher Education programs must attend their respective program information session鈥listed under Counseling Programs Information Sessions or Program Specific Information Sessions'.

*Fall deadline for international applicants (F1 visa) to these programs is March 15, 2027. 

The 鈥淨&A with GPA - Counseling Programs鈥 Session is an opportunity to connect with the College of Education Graduate Programs Advising team (Gabby and Megan) with questions you have about applying to one of the following 黑料网 College of Education Master鈥檚 degree programs: 

  • MS in Counseling Psychology
  • MS in School Counseling
  • MS in Counseling, Student Development in Higher Education (SDHE) 

These sessions will provide:  

  • A brief 10-minute presentation;
  • An opportunity to bring specific questions about your program of interest to a Graduate Programs Advisor;
  • Tips and recommendations for navigating the admissions process and becoming a competitive applicant;
  • An open and welcoming space to facilitate and support your decision to apply to graduate school.

*Note: If you have individual/specific questions about your GPA and eligibility to apply, please email ced-gradstudies@csulb.edu in advance of the session. 

Many graduate programs offer program specific information sessions for prospective students. These sessions are hosted by program faculty or co-hosted by program faculty and Graduate Programs Advising staff. Reservations for these information sessions are required, please visit the Graduate Programs Advising Event Calendar for a complete list of session days, times, and RSVP links.

Initial Teaching Credentials

Applicants interested in a credential to teach elementary, middle or high school, or to teach special education will need to earn an initial teaching credential (Multiple Subject Credential, Single Subject Credential, or Education Specialist Credential). Ed. D. in Educational Leadership Program
