ºÚÁÏÍø

My grandmother immigrated to this country and supported my mother by working in janitorial services at ºÚÁÏÍø. Now, I’m proud to say her grandson will graduate from the same university she once swept the floors of.

I never envisioned myself participating in student organizations, let alone becoming an officer of one, but because of the support I received I felt confident enough to step into the role of President of Fostering Futures.

The most rewarding part of this journey was meeting all of my amazing team members and friends, who really demonstrated the importance of having connection and support on campus!

My time at The Beach has been a whirlwind. For the first two years, I majored in biology before realizing that political science was my true interest.

As a non-local, I truly appreciate the beauty of this city and its surroundings, and enjoy going to beaches, exploring downtown, and going south to visit Orange County coastal cities.

I started attending ºÚÁÏÍø in the Fall of 2020 during the pandemic. Since everything was virtual, I was looking to get involved on campus in some way.

Ultimately after graduation, I’d love to continue to work at JPL, either as a program manager or business analyst.

ºÚÁÏÍø has played a pivotal role in my personal and professional development, affording me opportunities that were once mere aspirations.

At ºÚÁÏÍø I have had the opportunity to collaborate with talented artists. Every class I took allowed me to expand my perspective and how I investigate the world around me.

Cal State Long Beach has allowed me to grow as an individual and provided me with an immense amount of opportunities.

ºÚÁÏÍø is an outstanding university with so much to offer, everything from the beautiful campus to the variety of degree programs offered; I truly could not see myself going anywhere else for either of my degrees! 

From the moment I stepped foot onto ºÚÁÏÍø, I felt right at home. I transferred in from Santa Monica College for spring 2020. I joined the GenExcel program, and it really helped me to transition into the university as a first-generation student.
