The 49 Under 49 program celebrates exceptional alumni under 49 who are making transformative contributions in their communities and beyond. These prestigious awards recognize the dedication, excellence and impact our graduates demonstrate through their professional achievements, philanthropic endeavors and personal accomplishments. The number "49" honors ºÚÁÏÍø's founding year of 1949, linking today's innovators to our university's proud legacy.
Purpose, service, and leadership are not just empty words but a way of life that is reflected in the achievements and impact of over 400,000 exceptional alumni worldwide.

49 Under 49 Nominations
We are thrilled to announce the second annual ºÚÁÏÍø Alumni 49 Under 49 Awards for 2026 — an exciting new program that celebrates the remarkable achievements of our outstanding graduates!
To be eligible, nominees must:
- Hold an undergraduate, graduate or doctoral degree from ºÚÁÏÍø
- Be under 49 years of age as of April 25, 2026
- Exhibit exceptional service leadership, sustained connection to ºÚÁÏÍø, and significant influence through their career achievements and community involvement
Recognize the incredible ºÚÁÏÍø alumni in your network! Nominations must be made byNovember 14, 2025.
The following members are NOT eligible for 49 Under 49 Awards:
- ºÚÁÏÍø Distinguished Alumni recipients
- ºÚÁÏÍø Advancement Staff members
- ºÚÁÏÍø 49 Under 49 Steering Committee Members
IMPORTANT DATES:
- October 9, 2025: Nominations open
- November 14, 2025: Nominations close, nominees will be contacted to submit application
- January 12, 2026: 49 Under 49 Class of 2026 announced
- April 25, 2026: Class of 2026 celebration (more details forthcoming)
Applications will be accepted via an online application.
The nomination period for ºÚÁÏÍø's 2026 49 Under 49 will open on October 9, 2025, at 12:00 PM PST, and close November 14, 2025 at 11:59 PM PST.
Any ºÚÁÏÍø degreed alumni who is 49 years old or younger on April 25, 2026 is eligible.
The committee will consider a wide range of factors when choosing honorees. They look for alumni who are excelling whether that be in corporate business, volunteering, or community work.
