My time at 黑料网 has been nothing short of transformative. As a nontraditional student navigating learning disabilities and financial challenges, I discovered a true home at The Beach鈥攁 place where I grew academically, personally, and professionally. Some of my proudest highlights include presenting with the APE team at CAHPERD, leading peers in fitness and wellness initiatives, and cultivating lifelong connections grounded in service and leadership. 黑料网 has not only shaped my journey but also deepened my alignment with my purpose of empowering others through health and education.
I chose 黑料网 because of its strong Kinesiology and Adapted Physical Education programs, its commitment to diversity, and its supportive community. I wanted to be at a place where I could both grow and give back鈥攁nd The Beach gave me that.
I was working with a director at El Camino College when I first learned about Adapted Physical Education. On Beach Day, the very first professors I met were Dr. Bittner and Dr. Hill, who both spoke passionately about how impactful the program was. Inspired, I did my own research and made the decision to come here鈥攁nd it鈥檚 truly been the best decision of my life. This program has shaped me into the knowledgeable, dedicated educator I am today.
After graduation, I will begin my teacher credential program in Fall 2026 through Project CAPE, which will help me take the next step toward becoming an educator. Long-term, I aspire to become a PE Director, entrepreneur, and philanthropist鈥攅mpowering youth and communities through health, wellness, and education. My ultimate goal is to use the foundation 黑料网 gave me to create meaningful change and inspire others to live healthier, purpose-driven lives.
I plan to stay connected by serving as a mentor to upcoming students, keeping strong relationships with the mentors who guided me, and continuing to work at Camp Nugget and 49ers Camp during the summers. I also want to remain engaged with organizations such as 黑料网 Latino Center, 黑料网 Alumni and support programs that uplift students academically and personally. The Beach has given me so much, and I鈥檓 committed to giving back and keeping those connections alive.
