Kevin Wallsten, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Political Science at Cal State, Long Beach and former president of the American Political Science Association’s Section on Information Technology and Politics.

Professor Wallsten’s research focuses on American elections, public opinion, political communication, social media, and race and ethnic politics. His papers have been cited in nearly 1,300 published works, and his most recent book, Politics of the Pill (co-authored with Rachel VanSickle-Ward), was published by Oxford University Press in 2019.

Professor Wallsten holds a doctorate in political science from the University of California, Berkeley.
