鈥淚 would like to dedicate my senior class donation to my boss, Brenda Alcala. She is the supervisor for all facilities operations in the University Student Union, Student Wellness and Recreation Center, and IPCDC. With the upcoming merger between ASI and the 49er Shops, her role will expand further, overseeing even more facilities across campus. She will also play a crucial role in relocating staff and furniture when the USU closes for renovation later this year. Brenda is an unsung hero of the Cal State Long Beach Breathe Program and a key supporter of the Cares Program. Because of her, I get to celebrate two years of sobriety. She not only helps her employees professionally but also provides resources to support personal growth. As a woman with many roles, her first priority is being a mother, and she brings that nurturing quality into her leadership. With over 100 employees under her supervision, she leads with composure, professionalism, and perseverance. She is someone we respect not out of fear, but out of admiration. Brenda is the heart of this campus, and her impact on both 黑料网 and its people deserves recognition.鈥

Jayanta Debnath, Class of 2025

鈥淧rofessor Lara isn鈥檛 just a sociology professor at Cal State Long Beach鈥攈e鈥檚 a walking TED Talk with a Kendrick Lamar soundtrack. From day one, he had that rare ability to turn abstract theory into real-life relevance, like making Durkheim and Weber sound less like stuffy old men and more like your group chat philosophers. His classes weren鈥檛 just a place to learn; they were where minds got flipped, challenged, and nurtured with care, clarity, and the occasional Lamar lyric. He doesn鈥檛 just teach, he connects. Whether breaking down intersectionality or reminding us why empathy matters, Professor Lara made sure no student felt left behind. He explained complex concepts like he was handing you the keys to decode the world and suddenly, everything made more sense. Professor Lara didn鈥檛 just teach me sociology, he taught me to see people, power, and possibility with clearer eyes. And for that, I鈥檒l always be grateful. Plus, he's the only prof I know who鈥檇 give extra credit for decoding a Kendrick verse.鈥
Ashley Monique Ruacho, Class of 2025

"I would like to dedicate this gift in honor of Professor Allison Butler, who showed me that lawyers can have a heart 鈥 and a big one at that."
Abbas Chahine, Class of 2025

"To my incredible mom, As I reflect on my journey at 黑料网, I realize that my greatest strength has always been you. During my toughest moments, when I felt mentally at my lowest, you were my unwavering support. You stood by my side, offering encouragement and love when I needed it most. Your belief in me never wavered, even when I struggled to believe in myself. Your unconditional love has been my anchor, guiding me through the challenges of college life and beyond. You taught me the importance of resilience and the power of hope. I will forever be grateful for the countless sacrifices you made and the countless times you lifted me up. Your kindness and strength inspire me every day. Thank you for being my confidante, my cheerleader, and my rock. I could not have navigated this journey without you, and I carry your love with me wherever I go. I am proud to be your child and hope to make you as proud of me as I am of you. This dedication is a small token of my appreciation for everything you have done for me. I love you more than words can express."
Sofia Jimenez, Class of 2024

Wilfredo Sandoval Henriquez, Class of 2025

鈥淚 dedicate this to my sister, Elizabeth Gamil, for helping guide me toward my career path and always supporting me. As a proud alumna of 黑料网, Elizabeth led by example through her dedication, resilience, and passion for growth. She inspired me to dream big and work hard to reach my goals. Throughout my journey, she offered endless encouragement, advice, and belief in my potential, even when I had doubts. Whether it was through late-night talks or simple reminders that I could achieve anything I set my mind to, her support was constant and meaningful. Her experience and wisdom helped me feel confident in choosing the right path for my future. Elizabeth鈥檚 influence helped me see that success is built not only through ambition but also through kindness, patience, and perseverance. I am forever grateful for her leadership, encouragement, and love. Because of her, I have the courage to pursue my goals and stay true to my passions. Thank you, Elizabeth, for being my mentor, role model, and biggest supporter. I am proud to follow in your footsteps at 黑料网 and beyond.鈥

Roberto Carvalho Brigagao, Class of 2025

"As I reflect on my journey at Cal State University Long Beach, I am especially grateful for the incredible faculty who supported and inspired me along the way鈥攑articularly Dr. P. She is one of the kindest, most caring, and understanding professors I鈥檝e had the honor of learning from. Dr. P consistently checked in on me and always made me feel seen, supported, and valued. Her compassion and dedication to her students go beyond the classroom, and it鈥檚 clear that she genuinely cares about our success and well-being. The tutors were always respectful and helpful. Lastly, I would like to dedicate it to my family and friends for being my biggest support system and cheering me all the way.鈥
Jazmin Lopez, Class of 2025

"Dr. Caputi is the kind of professor I want to be and the kind of person I want to be. She reignited my love for learning and my passion for helping others. On the weekdays she teaches feminism and environmentalism, inspiring students to make the world better. On the weekends she does it herself, volunteering at nonprofits. Dr. Caputi鈥檚 kind soul is matched by her bright mind. Especially in her feminist philosophy class, she鈥檚 challenged me to think about things I鈥檝e never thought about, making me a better student and better human. To put it mildly, I鈥檓 fighting for my life senior year.  But I鈥檓 not fighting alone. Just two days ago as of writing this I called her at 7am during a crisis and she reassured me. 鈥淵ou鈥檒l get where you鈥檙e going Isaac, it鈥檒l be okay鈥. She saw in me what I didn鈥檛 see myself. I鈥檇 joke that Dr. Caputi was just a nice old lady who told every student they were Harvard-material. But then I believed her. I published my honors thesis, presented in Seattle, and applied for graduate schools because she believed I could and made me believe. Thank you Dr. Caputi for believing in me."
Oscar Obert, Class of 2025

"To my dad, Angelo: Your love, sacrifices, and guidance have shaped who I am today. You taught me resilience, integrity, and the value of hard work. This milestone is as much yours as it is mine. Thank you for always believing in me, for your unwavering support, and for being the steady hand that helped me grow. I am who I am because of you, and I am endlessly grateful for everything you've done for me."
