About the SMART Scholarship Program
The Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship-for-Service Program is a premier DoD initiative supporting undergraduate, master’s, and Ph.D. students pursuing degrees in STEM fields.
Benefits include:

- Annual stipend (up to $46,000 per year)
- Paid summer internships at DoD facilities
