12-units of double-count 500 level courses
- M.S.-Level courses that double-count towards the B.S. and M.S.
- Core courses: CHE 530, 560
- Elective: CHE 515, 526, 531, 532, 533, 537, 545, 555, 575, 585
After the first four years (2 semesters of Beach EDGE Program participation), students will have accumulated 120 units toward their B.S. Twelve of those units will be M.S.-Level courses that will count both toward their B.S. requirements of 120 units and the major required units.
Chemical Engineering, M.S.: 30 Units.
- Overview:
- Up to 12 units will double count for B.S. and M.S. requirements
- Degree Award: Students will take 500-level courses a B.S. student. The B.S. degree will be awarded first before the M.S. degree is completed.
- GPA: Must maintain at least a 3.0 for courses applied to M.S. degree.
- Students whose GPA drops below 3.0 will be subject to academic warning requirements as determined by university policy once they have 鈥榞raduate鈥 status.
- Master鈥檚 Level Tracks:
- Students in the blended Beach EDGE program may take either the thesis or comprehensive exam track.
- Thesis track: Students opting to complete a thesis are recommended to find a faculty research advisor prior to, during, or shortly after the application process to facilitate the expedited timeline. Any work completed as part of honors theses, independent study, senior design, etc. is not allowed to be included in the graduate thesis. Follow-on work or results not included in the above-mentioned coursework may be included in the graduate thesis.
- Comprehensive exam track: Students in the blended program will take the same exam as students enrolled in the MS programs. Refer to the graduate program handbook for specific details.
- Courses: Students in the blended Beach EDGE program will have the same course requirements as the traditional MS programs.
